Somebody actually tried to use the “I hate ~Modern Feminism~” argument like it’s not as vague as just saying “feminism.”

Literally none of these MRA Egalitarian AntiSJW ProLogic try-hards know what they’re talking about & they prove it every single time they shit out an argument & pretend it makes sense. Yall really sound like you’re typing a research paper at three in the morning when it’s due @ 7 am.

Also like we all can tell if you were around during the 1910s-1970s, you’d have been arguing against feminism back then too, you transparent little shit.

This is actually a *huge* sticking point for me because a lot of the bad stereotypes people have of feminism (anti-sexwork, patriarchy, male exclusion, feminists being angry lesbians) are decidedly rooted in second wave radical feminism and how it was perceived by society. You have these guys arguing against a strawman version of Dworkin and her allies and completely disregarding a lot of the modern subjectivity theory in regard to media analysis. These guys are working off concepts filtered through right-wing demagogues 30-40 years ago.

Whenever I see people use the term ‘modern feminists’ and talk about ‘real feminists’ (ie ones at their peak years before they were even born) it not only strikes me as incredibly dismissive but *staggeringly ignorant*. Third wave feminism, including much of its radical components, is so much more tolerant and accessible.

Or maybe because it was heavily a group of upper-middle class white people who willingly ignored the issues of race, gender identity and positive gender roles, and class it resonates a little more because it is so aggressively conservative in comparison.
