White privilege
Forty-six million white adults today can trace the origins of their family wealth to the Homestead Act of 1862. This bill gave away valuable acres of land for free to white families, but expressly precluded participation by Blacks.

Additional reminder that the land that was being given away was ‘made available’ through forced relocation and genocide.
So the government—aka white folks–stole Native lands by killing them off and forcing the survivors onto reservations,
Then gave away acres of land to white folks, and kept Black folks from getting some of this stolen land.
Just so all hearts and minds are clear.
