I talked to a friend this weekend and she said that while she respects anyone who fights for gender equality, she personally does not believe that the world is going to change. Ever.

She genuinely believes that nothing will ever change because so far nothing has, much.

I tried explaining to her about 1st wave, 2nd wave and 3rd feminism, and how it’s a progress and a learning curve and how it’s important to keep fighting and to keep educating others so that they’ll change their behaviour and their views as well.

She wouldn’t listen to me because she’s incredibly stubborn and has had too many bad experiences in the past to believe that things can change.

It just makes me sad because there have been accomplishments, and, like, yes, I would like things to change NOW rather than later, but if I don’t fight at all nothing ever will.

So, this comic is important.
